For Participants
How do I get started with Invisible Supports?
The process starts with a client referral form. A support coordinator, plan nominee, family member or participant can complete the form on the website.
If completing the form is difficult, you can call 0417 465 872 and the team can help complete it with you over the phone.
Can I choose or change my support worker?
Yes. Participant preferences, choice and control are considered during intake. The team uses this information to match workers and can share bios or profiles before meet-and-greets or regular shifts go ahead.
If a support worker does not feel like the right fit, the team welcomes open and honest feedback. There are no hard feelings. The goal is to find the right support match.
What happens if my needs or goals change?
Support needs can change over time. You may need to adjust support hours, work toward a new goal, ask what workers can help with, or raise something you are finding difficult.
Invisible Supports takes a proactive approach through monthly goal-setting reviews. The management team reviews NDIS goals and personal goals, checks in with participants and workers, and adapts care plans where needed.
For Families
How do you ensure my family member is safe?
Open, honest and effective communication helps families feel connected and confident. The team can schedule check-in calls, share updates, and raise any concerns or issues that need family input.
How will I receive updates about my loved one's supports?
Families can receive updates about milestones, concerns, changes and support progress where appropriate.
Can I be involved in planning and reviewing supports?
Yes, where appropriate. Plan nominees can be involved in intake and risk assessment. If you are not a plan nominee, involvement depends on participant consent and privacy and confidentiality requirements.
For Support Coordinators
How quickly can you accept a new referral?
After receiving a client referral form, the team aims to contact the support coordinator or participant within 1 to 2 hours, depending on the contact instructions in the referral.
An intake and risk assessment can usually be arranged within 24 to 48 hours. From there, the team prepares a quote based on the requested budget and hours, sets up a service agreement and confirms next steps.
If staff capacity is already available in the area, support may be able to start quickly. If a new worker needs to be hired or matched, this may take about one week.
How do I submit a referral?
You can submit the client referral form on the website. If you would prefer to talk first, you can call the team and they can discuss the referral before sending the form in the best communication format for you.
Will I receive regular progress updates and reports?
Yes. The management team holds monthly client goal meetings and can provide quarterly progress reports.
Reports may include shift notes, goal progress, current status and updates relevant to the participant's care team. Invisible Supports also values communication with therapists, support coordinators and other care-team members.
For Support Workers
What qualifications and checks do I need?
A Certificate III in Individual Support is recommended because it can support work with aged care clients, but it is not always required for disability support roles. Invisible Supports can provide on-the-job training.
Support workers need relevant compliance checks and certificates, including first aid, CPR and an NDIS Worker Screening Check. New workers are welcome to apply.
How are shifts allocated?
Shifts are allocated based on client and staff preference through the matching process. The minimum shift is 2 hours and the maximum shift per day is 10 hours.
Rostering is completed weekly so casual employees can update when they can and cannot work.
What support and training will I receive?
Invisible Supports provides information about participant diagnoses, support needs and expectations. Staff may also complete quizzes or short training modules.
Training options can include areas such as manual handling and medication management.
Funding and Billing
Do you support self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed participants?
Invisible Supports can invoice self-managed and plan-managed participants.
For NDIA-managed participants, support may be arranged through a contracting registered provider. This wording is used because Invisible Supports does not publish an NDIS registration number.
Do you charge for cancellations?
The cancellation policy is 48 business hours' notice.
